DOT FMVSS 218 helmet

I am looking to buy a Helmet for my wife and i have a Snell 2005 which is great but some of them i see online are DOT FMVSS 218. Are they good enough to be used in Auto X?

Depends on who you go with. Some organizations are pretty relaxed with rules, others require SA2005 or better rating. Snell would not cut it, since it's not fire proof or can not withstand multiple impacts

scca is pretty lax about there rules. i believe theirs is sa2005 or better if I'm not mistaken.
