Just wondering if the newer style 6 disc double din radio will work in a 98? Is the harness the same or what has to be done in order to make it work

you would need a harness, and a labotomy......

The indash changers are nothing more then a time bomb that is programmed to go off when it knows it has your 6 most favorite disks locked up. The transport mech on them has always been the weak point of the chain that jams and will end up replaced instead..... spending the time to put one in is a waste of both time and money imo.

Well since you say they are not worth it i do have a new in box pioneer deh-p5200hd to put in but i have been reading in some other topics if you run the stock amps with a new head unit that it will not sound that great so thats what made me ask about the double din radio. The stock mach system is fine for me i dont need or want nothing to loud because i would rather here the tone of my exhaust. So what exactly has to be done to use the factory amps? I went to best buy and bought the harness with the rca's but there is only 2 would i need 4 rca's? what harness do i use to run the speakers? Thanks

ttocs thanks bro.. nice write up and nice car and system looks great.. The harness i bought from best buy it only has 2 rca cables i need 4 and crutchfield shows a pic on there website with the 4 rca's. Do you think best buy will have the one with 4 rca's? I had to do this to my explorer that had the jbl system with the sub but that has been awhile. Thanks for the help

no you are fine with two, the subs work off a left/right signal no front/rear.

Thanks for the compliments. I am getting ready to switch my amps and speakers to a phoenix gold roadster 66 and some PG Ti elete componants with Ti9s in the doors. Should be fun and sound nice.
