Some of ya'll may know this area way better than I do. I currently have a Ford 6 disc cd player in my Ford Explorer, well it called craps on me the other day. I was wondering if there's a way to go from a double din cd player to a single din with a pocket or plate of something underneath it that looks clean. I dont want to pay tons of money for a good double din that I really don't need.
Any help is appreciated

When I wanted a deck in my F-150 it was an option to get the single din conversion plate to go from the stock 1.5 din. I ended up going the other way and making a double din gps navigation deck fit.

So what you want to do shouldn't be a problem

go to your local car audio retailer(not wallmart) and they will have a kit/hrns for you. Order it from crutchfield and it comes with it.

Crutchfield is the place to go. They have free kits when you order a radio from them, like ttocs said. You can find a great inexpensive double din unit though. I recently replaced my double din Mountaineer radio with a great JVC double din unit for $150.00.

Check this out: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KWR500/JVC-KW-R500.html?tp=5684

You can even change the color of the display to match the rest of the dash lights to give it more of a clean stock feeling. And it has a front USB attachment so you can put all your music on a flash drive and play right from there. Great price, great sound.
