I am going to disagree with DuffyBoy. Although I am going back quite a while, my best ET was 12.58 which tied my best MPH of 113. When I was on, I was running low 12.60's @110-113MPH. My car was capable of running low 12's but I had the wrong gears in the back.
He already addressed that issue.
"If you look at alot of your slips it seems the slower the ET the higher your MPH is. Its odd how it happens but it is. With most of our cars being on the slow end of the sport our numbers are a little more difficult to track then others. We have more variables then most and our cars and ourselves are less consistant then the higherup's in the sport."
Cars that are dialed in correctly ..will follow the trend of 'faster ET = lower trap'
Most street cars at the track are not dialed in. Wheel spin, shifting points, speed between shifts, how the suspension unloads on the launch and between shifts, track temperature, DA, and prep alllll make a difference.
...so just because of that ONE pass...doesn't mean he is incorrect. That just means A) your car isn't set up properly B)you had ideal track conditions that day, that allowed you to have a best ET with a high trap as well.
Just for an example

Fast/dialed in cars almost always behave that way at the track.
