drivetrain vibration problem

I am out of ideas on how to fix my drivetrain vibration. It happens between 45-55 mph and then goes away. It doesn't matter if it's during acceleration or deceleration. I have gotten all 4 tires balanced and have installed adjustable rear control arms. The pinion angle is set at 4 degrees nose down (just where Steeda wants it to be) The car was just aligned last summer. You can feel the vibration through the shifter and the steering wheel. I installed urethane motor and tranny mounts last year, after that was when I first noticed the problem. Any ideas??

Right there probably. You do know that Urethane mounts are stiffer thus=more vibrations? I didn't until the helpful people here told me, so I got stock rubber ones and I'm glad I did, or else my teeth would be rattling with this new engine lol.

driveline vibration wont come through the steering wheel.....

if its ONLY at 45-55mph no matter what gear/rpm then its without a doubt tire/rim problem.... anything driveline related will get worse with either MPH or RPM.....

take out your drive shaft, drive it around the block. if the vibrations are gone, you know its the shaft.

take your shaft to the local shaft servicing center and have them balance it. a balanced shaft will make the world of difference. you woman might even notice the difference once your shaft has been re-worked...

if you are feeling it in the wheel, it may not be the shaft... could be something related to the steering/suspension.

My guess would be driveshaft check the u joints buy getting under it and tring to shake the hell out of it. Could check the front suspension as far as tierod ends and so on. small possibility front control arm bushings. i would just check everything as far as nut bolts tight or loose bushing showing wear and go from there.

That's where I'm baffled. I just replaced the front control arm bushings, tie rod ends, driveshaft u-joints and steering rack bushings. I think I'm going to switch my rear wheels with my brother's from his 98gt. If the vibration goes away, then I know the problem is in the 3/4 gone 305 tires. Even though they balanced out.

Do you still have the dogbone hanging off your rear diff? Lot of people complain about vibrations in that same speed range when they remove it, funy partis I have pulled it on both my mustangs and no vibrations at all

Was just about to ask how you drive around without a driveshaft

Did nobody catch the fact that he said steering wheel???

Driveline vibration wont do that no matter how bad. Could be multiple problems though.
