My woman was surprised, but we had been living together for over a year, and I was 99% sure she wanted me to ask her, but thought I never would. So I sprung it. She was surprised, but man, if I would have asked her on the court of a basketball game, she would have probably run away! lol. That's a private deal between two people. man.

my wife was dragging me into jewelry stores trying to get me to look at rings with her the day i proposed. her best friend had to make up an excuse to go elsewhere in the mall because she had helped me to get the ring the night before. i did not want the jewelers that had seen us the night before to give it away so i was an @#$ and refused to look at rings. she bought a car mag and icecream later in the day. that night at home where it was just the 2 of us i scooped the icecream, grabbed the mag, put the ring under the mag, went to the living room. she said "that's my magazine" jokingly. i got down and said "you can have the magazine or ????". moved the mag to the table. "will you marry me?" she called me an a$@hol#. said yes and did not touch the mag for like a month. if it would have backfired on me at least i was in our house and not in front of a large audience
