What kind of transmission would a 01 vert have? Ive seen that they have the tremec 3550 but also seen that they have the t5's or t45's.

Im trying to buy a MGW short throw but not sure which to buy.

You don't have a T5... the last year they put the T5 in a car was '95. after that it was T45, same tranny, only difference is the bellhousing is connected to the tranny, and can't be taken off, like the T5's... being an '01, i doubt you have the T45... i think they stopped putting those in cars in 2000, but not 100% sure

I'm fairly sure that V6's had the T-45's all the way until 04. 05 they switched to the same as the GT. Don't quote me on it though.

That's a good deal on the tranny but I'd just send the shifter back for the right one if it doesn't fit. But that's just me :dunno:

well I thought about that until he told me how cheap the trans would be. 30 for the tranny and he would put it in at his house for me. Seems like a good deal but who knows.

You for sure DO NOT have a T5

I am 99.9% sure its a T5.

But I will tell you how to find out for sure. Go out, look at the tranny. A T45 has a non removable bellhousing. its all one peice. The Tremecs were used in the GTs.

I would not replace the t5 with the t45. You can beef up the T-5 but with a T-45 you are left in the cold on parts. G-force makes all kinds of stuff for the T-5 but with a T-45 the only thing you can upgrade is the 3-4 shift fork and thats a ford piece.

As far as I know it's the same shifter for the T-5 and the T-45 anyway. Call MGW if you want to know for sure. But as far as I'm concerned the shifter will fit either.
