Dying Seats?

Ok I figured this would be the best section for this, if it isnt would a mod please move it for me?

Just picked up a nice pair of seats and they are a little faded. They're Black and on the side part of the top its faded some. What could I used to dye these to make them look decent again? I dont want to use the spray on stuff, too many people complain about it making the fabric stiff. Anyone had any luck with the RIT dye? I was thinking about putting it in a spray bottle and just spraying it on? Just looking for some advise on what to use that will last for a long time and look good.

go to a carpet store or upholstery repair shop and get the dye there. RIT will barely stain a white tshirt let alone do what you're wanting.

Ok I figured there was a more powerful dye than that, thats why I posted. Ill give some places a call in the morning.

Yes I did. I used a product by the name SimplySpray. I found it at a local fabric store. Its made for Upholstery and did a GREAT job. I wore some rubber gloves and after each coat I kinda massaged the dye into the seat. The seats are not hard and nasty feeling like if you used a spray either. They feel the exact same way they did before using the spray. Ill get a couple pics of them this weekend when I have the car outta the garage. They look like new again.

Oh and BigTang, you mustve not used RIT the right way. My mother dyed a bedskirt Purple for my daughter's room that was White and it turned out great. Its been through the wash about 4 times now and hasnt faded a bit.
