I know what many of you guys said when you read that title and that is "don't, just dont do it". I know some things on ebay are not a good idea to consider purchasing such as turbo kits and I have seen and purchased good quality products on Ebay. Is there a recommended kit that can be trusted and obtained on Ebay? I want to do a PI head swap because i need to do a head gasket anyways. I plan on just doing the heads at the moment and then the intake later.

Personally I would like to buy all ford racing stuff or just ford stuff in general. I would like to just swap a lincoln mark 8 4 valve in and call it good but that is more involved because I need cobra manifolds.

I would like personal experiences about the gasket kits, not just opinions thanks.

Just go to the dealer and buy the oe gaskets. You cant beat Ford, the one thing they do is make gaskets and make them well. From their pick up truck seals, to their motor seals, they are all great. Dont cheap out on some of the important shit.

Spend the money and buy the right stuff. Ask for a top end gasket kit. They should offer it or at least use the list of whats in that kit and go from there.

Yeah, gaskets from ebay are not so good. Unless it is a brand name part, I tend to stay away from any "ebay" junk like that.

Gaskets are kinda important... should try and get the best stuff rather than take a risk on ebay junk.

A good gasket kit isn't even that much... Don't cheap out.

Yeah.. just buy a kit from Ford, I got my head gasket kit and head bolts for 140, I do have a 3.8 but I feel like it shouldn't be to terribly expensive. But I wouldn't put an ebay gasket kit on my car for no reason.

I was hoping for some information about someones experience with ebay gaskets. I have have good luck with some of the parts off there. I just have never bought gaskets from there before. I read that all I really need is the head bolt gasket and the TTY bolts, and maybe an intake gasket for when or if i do the PI swap. My engine was in good shape before i accidentally left my heater hose loose from working on my car when i was tired. It only has 133k on it. If all i need are those parts ill be in good shape. I dont want to cut unnecessary corners.

If you don't want to cut unnecessary corners why would you buy ebay head gaskets? You can probably get a full top end gasket kit from Ford for around 140-180 bucks, don't buy an ebay gasket kit or you'll find yourself replacing your engine after your head gaskets let go and the engine locks up. And you're going to want to replace all the gaskets you can while you have it apart, putting back the old gaskets you remove during tear down is not a good idea what so ever. Because while you're taking it apart you could cause them to mess up, and while you have it apart it would only make sense to put new ones in. Especially since you can get an entire gasket kit for cheap.

There are three things in life you dont buy off the internet:

Condoms (That's how Steven got here)
Head gaskets (That's how you end up pulling heads a second time.)
Wives (That's how Steven made her way to America - now we're all paying for it....)

Aren't a 4.6 head gasket as cheap priced as a push rod motors? My turbo 351w head gaskets cost me $80. Felpro all the way.

Lol buying condoms online is fine. Just order from a known place or seller with tons of feed back lol. . .

Not that I would know.. .
