Should all go well, I plan to call up one of these fellows to get a custom grind for a set of foxlake TW's that I'm picking up. I wanted to see who's used who and any suggestions. This isn't a "who's better" rather who I should use. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Uh...you guys want to explain WTF this thread is about to the old guy?

Both of these guys are very well known on the Mustang world for their custom grind cams.

I have one of eds cam in my built 351w. The car runs great, and has excellent manners for a big lift cam...idles 750 all day long, nice power curve..... No complaints from me. My friend uses one of jays cams and is very happy as well. It's prob a win-win either way you go.

Which ever one is cheapest or which ever gives better customer service. I believe Jay is $100 more.

ive done business with jay. he doesnt bs, very short, and to the point. i cant comment on his cam cuz its for a blower. i dont have a blower (yet). but he knows his stuff.

having said that.. i would still talk to both guys and see which one can make you happy. dont listen to other peoples opinions. its your money and going in your car so you decided.

IMHO, Jay is a SMART guy...but his personality is total crap. We tried to order heads and a cam from him and he was a booming butt hole about it.

Ed is also a SMART guy, but his personality is much more real. Just do yourself a favor and don't contact either of them until you are serious and ready. I've worked with Ed A LOT and can tell you he spends 3 hours per morning answering email.
You can only imagine how many of them start with "I have an E cam how much better will yours be" or "what do you think of the TFS heads that summit sells"...blah blah blah.

When I contacted Ed...my email started with something like this:
"Hi Ed, I want to re-do the AFR205's that I have and get a cam. Where do I send the heads and who do I make a deposit check out to....everything is boxed and ready, and I have a check here. I just need to know what numbers to put in it".

You know what, he responded QUICKLY!

I can't imagine how many retards who aren't spending any money Ed and Jay have to deal with on a daily basis. That would drive me nuts.

I emailed Ed about a engine combo I am leaning twards, He answered all my questins and gave a few of his suggestions as well. He answered the next day. When it comes time to buy myself some new parts, Im going to go with Ed. I havent had any expirience with Jay, but Ed is a stand up guy.
