Its not uncommon for the rmps to change a little when high-current consuming devices kick in as it puts a load on the alt, which makes it harder too turn. I don't have a fan switch(or a toggle) but when my compressor for my air-ride kicks in the rpms will change a little. Now if its changing more then a couple hundred rpm you might have an issue.

Now that is true too unless that switch is a high-current rated switch or you have it hooked up too a relay you are going to melt that switch.

And like rz5.0 and ttocs posted. For safety reasons you should be running it through a relay too. or your next post might be in the fire extinguisher thread.

Cut new members some slack guys.... they dont have the experience on here to know who's just horsing around and who's being a legitimate asshole...
moneymikesgv -- Sorry about the delay on cleaning up your thread, it skimmed by me :) DOnt worry about the hard time these fellas are givin' ya. They are doing it out of jest, i assure you. If you ever need anything (such as "these dingle-berrys are cluttering up my thread") just shoot me a PM. :-D

Welcome to the forum. as you can see above, it would be best to run it through a relay. You can buy relays from both auto-zone parts stores or radio shacks.... try and find one with a fe-male socket to use, as those are the safest.

And if you need help/instructions on how to wire up the relay I can get you through that. Its easy if you have never done it.
