Electrical problem....I think.

I hate that this I was mt first post, but...

When I turn my key to start the motor nothing happens. New batt, new starter, new alt. Nothing.

I bought the car with a alarm system, but it never worked. I dont know whats wrong. help please.

Kind of a broad question. But I'd lean twards someything electrical. Alarms sometimes have ignition disable relays which may need to be removed if the alarm is non functional or doing goofy things.

First question is, did the car start/run before? Or did you buy it like this?

Do you hear any clicks or anything when you turn the key? Does the radio/acc power work? It could be an ignition switch as well. One way to start troubleshooting would be to bypass the starter solenoid and turn the engine over that way. Then, grab a voltmeter and work your way back.

**discalimer: if you don't understand what I typed and are not electronicaly competent, don't mess with it. Rather take it to a shop than catch something on fire.

Is this on a Mustang? What year?

The only problem I had with the mustang was a bad alternater. Then about nine months after that the car was dead. Took the battery to check for juice. It was bad. Got a new one. Still didnt start. So I thought it was the starter. New starter, still did not start, but I got radio, lights, horn.

So I thought ignition module, same problem. I just changed the ignition switch under the steering column. no differance.

is it a manual? have you checked the clutch switch to see if it is making contact and allowing the starter to turn? If it were the starter kill in the alarm you would hear a relay click(probably under the dash) when you should actually be starting the car, and click again when you stop starting the car. IF this was the case though the alarm would probably go off as well.

Good point ttocs, also if AOD it needs that too. After we bought my Wife's Excursion she called me in a panic that it would not start. I told her to pit it in 'N' and it fired right up, she still has to do that once in a while.

look at the top of the clutch pedal, I have seen them break off and if that is the case you will be able to see it.

If it is the clutch swich, would I be able to clutch start it? Because I am able to clutch start it. And I an able to jump start the starter. Do you know what I mean?

yup and yup! I really think its the old alarm system acting up. Ive done almost everything I can think, but rip out the alarm!

get under the dash and see if there is a relay tied into the starter wire. There is generall an orange wire going to it and if there is cut/disconnect the orange wire and try it again.

If this was the case, when you actuall crank the starter you will hear the relay click under the dash.
