Ok im almost all ready to do my head swap :icon_rr: Now i need to figure out what color i want to paint the engine. My plan was to do the Upper and Lower intake Semi-gloss black, with the svo plack red, and paint the bold heads red also.
Thermostat Housing-Semi gloss black
Headers-ceramic coat silver
So what color should I paint my valve covers, pulleys, and water pump? i would like to keep the colors silver, semi gloss black and red.

BTW my a/c and power steering will be removed.

Here's a couple I've been working on for my car and my friend's '84 Capri RS Turbo if you want to blatantly steal some ideas. :thefinger: Of course, this is all powdercoat, not paint.

hemi orange! :laughing5:

powder coating is the way to go. I sand blasted all mine then used paint. bad call....its all scraping and flaking off. the oil pan is the worst! i think in your case with a red car, keep it to the simple red black and silver colors. anything more and it just gets out of hand. the valve covers i'd do the same as the intake. the brackets and water pump should be silver.

I never liked the red/black theme much myself - or at least not "matte" black and plain red. Plus "it's been done" so it's kind of boring IMHO.

I like to just go for the ultra-sanitary look.

Still going. Finally got the alternator apart - hope to coat it this weekend. Did a bunch of tidbits on it last weekend for the engine bay. Hope to maybe install the motor/trans before summer.

that looks awsome paul I love your engine. I might go and grab some cast aluminum color for the heads and pulleys. there will be minimal red on it.

Good choice. I rattled canned my Explorer intake manifold with Duplicolor "Cast Coat Aluminum" a few weeks ago. It looks great. I'll snap some pics later of it, along with some other random stuff I need to take pics of, lol.

That's light grey metallic powdercoat. :) It actually sparkles a little in the sunshine.

That holds the power steering pump, and the alternator sits on top of it and attaches to the other bracket that sits right next to the top cam pulley Hopefully that will be installed soon. Perhaps even this weekend.
