Just out of the blue or have you done any work to it recently?

I was going to say the IAC valve is sticking but with the other video you appear to be at 20mph with the tach only fluctuating. Is the engine actually reving higher or is the tach just bouncing?

Check your underhood sensors like coolant temp sensors etc. Also check your o2s

I would almost wonder if you just don't have a leak in your intake after the maf that is allowing more air into it. Check all your connections on the intake(upper/lower back to the maf) and that there are not any broken vac lines maybe.

no mods, ignition module and coil pack have been replaced. had a similar problem a year or so back, and went through the fuel system replacing filters and checking pressure at the rails, not fuel, distributor is my next part to throw at it, and it seems like a good suggestion. When the similar problem occurred before, i put in a cheap motorcraft distributor rotor and pickup relay....soooo possibly i got what i paid for, or the cap is toasted. thanks for the input everybody. I'll be sure to post after i replace the distributor
Btw, i was thinking msd or some sort of billet distributor. Is that overkill? I also saw that there are different styles of triggers, what is that going to affect if i buy one with a trigger different from stock, let's say a magnetic style?
