Exhaust Dumps?

I have a 03 Cobra exhaust and some Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers to replace the factory mufflers. My question is how would I turn these into dumps because I do not have a IRS. Or would I be able to shorten the back pipes so they come out of the side and keep the back pressure like i need it. I am adding these onto my 3.8 motor. I know I have to plug the factory o2 sensor holes above the cats on the exhaust, since the exhaust headers have o2 sensors already. I am trying to figure this out soon, want to get it finished up before the 19th. I am hoping to start driving it soon.

The factory sixxer exhaust is short to crap, not enough back pressure for the motor to run properly. It sounded like junk when i got the stang and before I did this rebuild.

Thanks for the help.

trust me.... your not going to gain power by increasing pressure in the exhaust

there is nothing to the back pressure theory except for the old hot rodders making guesses... really, the reason you hear that is because basically, when you take a huge 3 inch exhaust pipe and throw it on a (for a bad example) civic, your lossing all of your velocity, but when you have a 1 inch pipe you have no flow, you ideally want a balance between flow and velocity, its the exact same theory behind head and intake porting aswell as aftermarket head selection

in the world of power, flow vs. velocity means EVERYTHING
