Hey guys, i just ordered an O/R X pipe and was wondering if you guys have any tips/tricks when installing it? I know the exhaust bolts will probably be rusty as hell. Should i spray some PB blaster or similar on them to loosen them up before hand or does it not even help? Lets just hope my MILs come in soon!

start spraying them everyday till you get ready to install. Don't forget the cat bolts under the car. When installing put jack stands or some kind of prop under the pipes to hold them tight to the bottom of the car then tighten the bolts. Remove props, start car, check for leaks. let car get good and hot, then retighten bolts. DON'T TOUCH THE PIPES they will be hot.

Exactly what desertcox05 said, and also make sure you get new bolts!!!! They are really cheap, and will make putting it all back together that much easier. Plus if you ever need to take it off again you won't have to fight with them.

I dont suppose you know the size/pitch of the bolts? Does it really matter what ones i get as long as they fit? I looked and can see the midpipe-catback bolts but the header-midpipe bolts are up there. They aren't studded into the heads are they? I like that idea but dont want to get the wrong thing and have them back off later. Lock nuts or? thanks fellas!

The headers have studs in them and the cat back will have nuts and bolts. I think they're 3/8 course thread.
You should be able to see the back side of the header studs from the top of the motor to spray those.
Don't forget the o2 sensors, and get a tube of anti-sieze for re-assembly.
I don't think my header bolts had lock nuts but the cat back bolts were.

PB Blaster! lots of it... I broke a stock header stud and one of the cat bolts.. That was fun. Then the Stock H-pipe dropped onto my head.. That was fun also.. It's a lot more of a PITA then one would think. Just plan ahead. And recruit some friends.. Give em beer.. ;)

Anyone know what the manifold bolt/nuts are? is it a 19 or 21 mm? So i need to blast the crap out of the header bolts with PB blaster before hand, ive soaked them all once. I should pry do it again tomorrow. It should be a bit louder eh? :)
