Alright i FUBAR'ed my manifold studs whiilst putting the H pipe on...

THIS WLL BE IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TRANSMISSION SWAP SO THE TRANSMISSION AND THE STARTER WILL BE OFF DURING THIS ENDEAVOR

option 1: replace 'em. how hard is this and is it possible while they're still on the car.

option 2: rechase the studs....i know its possible but not sure how hard this'll be

option 30000000:pay for aroun a bigillion dollars to replace them (not including parts cost)

not sure what to do guys...

:help2:

Since they don't cost that much you can either replace them or get a tap and just clean the threads on the studs. I would just replace the studs.

couldn't you just drill it out on the manifold, and put a stainless thru bolt on there with lock washer and stop nut to keep it tight and be done with all the stud BS?

do you have shorty headers yet. if not then get some and prob solved. if you do and you screwed the threads then a pair of vice grips and some pb blaster should do the trick. if you broke the stud off in the header then your screwed. lol. no really it would be easier to remover the header from that side drill out the stud with an easy out and chase the threades. i hope this covers your probs good luck

stockers arent all that bad but i chose shorties. those bolts are a pitd. i hope you use pb blaster on each stud cause they have a tendancy to a get stuck in there or break off. some come out fairly easy. easy out method should do the trick. :happydrunks:. if you have just enough try needle nose vise grips or some kind of clamping wrench. not too much to recommend but itf theyre jacked up. change em.
