Past couple days the car has kind of been hesitating, and sputtering. After some trouble shooting, pretty sure i have a clogged catalyst. 98 Gt, stock mid pipe, after driving around for a while I pulled into the driveway and looked under the car. The driver front Cat was making an audible "tick" noise and glowing red.

Going to order a mid pipe ASAP, but unsure which. I drive a lot and live in a neighborhood with many fickle elderly, so want to keep the sound down. Was hoping to use the stock mufflers for now. Shoud I go cat-less, or catted. In Louisiana, and have never been sniffed. Inspections are drive in, get new sticker, drive out.

Need to turn off the rear o2 in tune with cat-less?

What brand do you guys prefer?

if you want to keep the sound down, i'd get catted. catless provides less restriction, meaning a louder exhaust note.
i would also recommend you get an H pipe if you intend to use it daily and not for racing, as well as having a less 'raspy' sound.

BBK is what I've always used for h or x pipes. You will need MIL eliminators if you go with an offroad h or x pipe.

I definitely agree. Dont go catless and dont buy a bbk x pipe( unless you want to buy mine lol). Also for some reason my 98 never kicked the check engine light on with the off road pipe, not really sure why, so maybe you won't have that issue either.
