exhaust tip stains

Hey guys i was cleaning the mustang a few days ago and noticed the black oil stains on the pipes (mainly on the bottom). ive since tried to clean it up with anything from crud cutter the paint thinner... any ideas?

i used one of my mom's blue fine wire things... seemed to work well. didnt get all of it but the majority is no more. thanks guys
