ya anything you have to hel would be awsome. i want to carb the 302 and put a c4 in it. Just a parts list would be nice on things i woud need. I know the basics like intake, carb, taking out the wiring. But like how much wiring do i take out cuz i want all the power windows and top to still work. How will i make it so the guages still work? What things will i need for the tranny swap. I dont plan on doing this asap i plan on starting towards the end of the summer and tinkering with it all winter. i would also like to make my project a how to for everybody. I know its pretty basic but there are always road bumps. What size carb would you recommend? 650?

well a far a wiring everything under the hood that has to do with fi can go... but your stock gauges all mine work but the tach..and what i done was traced the temp wire and oil psi and all those things an left them hooked up stock and i read u have to leave the comp in it to get the gauges to work but i havent takin mine out to see if u need it or not...and i would go with a 600 dp or a 650 dp if your goin with cast heads and stock bottom 302 thats ALL u need dont listen to some redneck tellin u need a 750 and go with a tfs1 or a b cam for best perfomance with a carb setup....(fuel system)and u will either have to sump your stock tank or just put a cell in it , and go with a holley blue pump and reg. it to 6 psi and run 8an line from tank to reg. then out of both sides of the reg to the carb run 6an...

Always the first place to start out on this project....

A 600 will do fine. Go with vacuum secondaries with the auto trans. The car won't bog when you mash the pedal from a stop and it will open the secondaries when the engine is ready for it. The mechanical secondaries are best on a manual trans when you would lose the vacuum drop to open the seondaries while shifting.

For reference the 289 Hi Po used a 578 CFM carb.

To do the swap

-aeromotive carburator swap regulator
-Ignition box
-Rewire the guages(easier to just do a full autometer dash if you have the money)
-1985 GT distributor
-Cowl hood or drop mounts to clear the intake/carb

And of course the intake/carb/air cleaner.

If you don't want to use the aeromotive swap regulator then you have to run new fuel lines and get a new pick up and pump.

I'm doin a carb swap on my 95 this weekend, personally replace the fuel line and run the inline pump/reg assy. Just think what would happen if the efi swap regulator sticks and allows full pressure to the carb. Grab the weenies and marshmellows! Besides if you read the instructions on the regulator you have to install a larger return line anyway.Good luck and happy HP gain.
