There is some guys around town that used to have Mustangs but sold them for Street bikes. They keep telling me not to change the heads, cam, or anything on my car because the computer will mess everything up. (its a 94 gt by the way) They say it'll be nothing but problems. I planed on strokin and doin alot, should the computer worrie me or is this just a bunch of people talking about somin they dont know? I see where people do it all the time and never hear about problems much. So Fact or Fiction? Will the computer cause problems? If so what is need to change this?

Thanks Jacob O0

The computer can self-compensate to a point. If you plan on doing heads, cam, intake, it will need a chip with a tune.

I thought all it would need is a tune with a good tuner. Sounds like a good job for dan a prodyno. >:D. They acted like it could never be fixed.

A tune would get it done. Lot's of old school and morons still beleive that that damn fuel injection should be ripped off for a carb immediately. Of course they never had a legitimate 500 hp 302 either, but if you go by the imagindyno, a 302 get's you 300 HP....Header's are 50, intake 30... etc.

fiction...

Before I even went to the dyno, I had my H/C/I 331 idleing for as long as I wanted. ONly a minor hiccup here and there. Now, I just have to let it build some heat up in the cylinders and then it smooths right on out. Tell those boys they don't know chit...

tell them they are a bunch of dumbasses, after i did my car i had an appointment made for my car to go into the shop for a tune and i drove my car just fine for a week before it went in, but it is always recommended to have a custom tune when doing h/c/i and other big mods such as stroking, supercharger, nitrous

Our cars are sensitive but you can tune it, or get a tuner like a tweecer. yes our computers are fussy (some people say there junk compared to the fox's computers but thats b.s) but with some tuning you wont have a problem.

You should listen to them ONLY and I mean only if they have had the mods they are telling you not to get.

And even then I'd still tell them to take a flying leap. According to their stupid logic my car shouldn't be able to run at all.

I've got a big cam, worked heads, extra inches, giant MAF and injectors....

Our 94 GT has h/c/i with the normal supporting cast (tb/maf/fp/inj/ect) and idled fine even before we had it tuned with a SCT Chip.

94/95 EECs are a little more "temperamental" than say the A9L, but it's not really a huge issue.

Let me just say, and my buddy can back me up on this... don't run your newly procharged 306 hard before a tune unless you really hate your head gaskets.
