Fan runs w key on

Hello....My fan comes on with the key in the run position while the car is cold. I jumped it on high/low and it runs pretty fast but both speeds seem the same. Is the control module and fan bad??? Thanks Troy 94 GT

I doubt the ccrm is bad. more likely someone has either done a mod so the fan runs all the time or changed the program in the computer so the fan is on all the time.
When you pull codes the computer does a self test and the first thing you hear when you turn the key is some relays cycling then the low speed fan for a couple seconds followed by the hi speed fan for a couple seconds.
How did you jump both the low and hi speed fans?

My fan does exactly this, this is because the fan wouldnt ever turn on. We figured it was better to always be on than to always be off

I jumped the fan motor by removing plug @ fan and grounded the black then put a hot on each other terminal one at a time. Thats when the the fan's rpm BOTH sound the same. Whether its high or low i dont know. it blows pretty hard so i think its running high all the time. If thats the case i will leave it alone. High is good !!!

just making sure of you TS skills. good job. I would be worried that both may to be powered at the same time. That would burn up the motor quick. Fan motor is fairley cheap to fix. It should be 2 speed. and it's noticeable. Still someone may have tuned it to be on all the time. which is ok if you want it on all the time.
