Maybe check compression, change all fluids, flush stuff, plugs, wires,... just basic maintenance would be a good place to start, if the car is in poor running condition, then you'll have to do a few mods just to catch up to other stock sn's :dontknow:

I think you need to do a little bit more reading and understanding your car before attempting to make it go any bit "Fast." Also, I suggest taking a grammar course, it may benefit you one day in say, Oh I don't know, a job. You can make anything go fast, it's just about how much money you want to spend. The saying always goes speed is money. You cut corners now and all you'll end up with is a broken stang and the lack of skills to describe whats wrong with it lol.

if you do it write its not. People are STUPID and get greedy. Anyone that tells you nitrous is bad is uneducated on the subject.

nitrous is bad

:tard:

Spray it.

For close to what you'll pay for gears + install - you could have a nice nitrous kit, especially if you buy a used kit.

My buddy bought an NX Wet Kit and the Gen X 2 kit for $500 from a dude on Corral.

so what would be the kit to get, im either going to get a holly systamax intake or a edelbrock performer, also do those intakes both work with the stock valve covers? heads are on the way after the intake,

Theres a whole bunch of mods listed in here by posters and the thread starter that are not needed if you just want to bust into the 13's

1. You dont need 31 spline axles or to change the rear end differential

2. You dont need an aftermarket clutch unless your stocker is on its way out

If you want to get into the 13's get some under drive pulleys, free up your exhaust system, replace the stock intake put in some 3.55-4.10 gears and get some decent tires for the track and with some practice you will get down or close to the 13's. Start there and work your way down and see what else you would want to do for improvements if you dont get into the 13's

The one huge downfall to Nitrous is that the cost of using it never ends. You dont need to spray it if you only want 13's

I think a good gear, tire, SFC's, and a shifter will get you down into the 13's no sweat.

could you get 12s or maybe even 11's with a h/c/i and a good tune? plus the other bolts ons

12's is very doable. 11's is another story as it requires a certain amount of finesse with putting together a combo to do something like that. Not only will the motor have to be right, but it will require the car being right as well. There are cars that do it, however a 302 block motor typically ends up with bad driveability with a combo that fast. However a windsor can be plenty driveable, and make more then enough power to push your car into the 11's. If you want a HCI car in the 11's on a stock bottom end 302, spray the hell out of it.

Your really going to just have to do research to see what fits your budget and what you can work to get there. Alot of your time's credit is going to have to be due to the suspension and weight reduction, as typically a low 12 H/C/I car thats full weight is not "low pocket" friendly lol. Your best bet is to get a set of good aluminum heads, custom cam, matching intake, basically everything the cam designer tells you is best in order to make it happen. It's going to take alot of patience though.

yeah exactly, that's the wrong mid set to have when trying to go faster b/c then you start cutting corners to save money and never come close to what you started out w/ for goals.
