No matter what anyone tells you NEVER grind down a weld. it weakens the weld tremendously. if you dont like the look of a weld, grind down the pieces of metal in a sence beveling. then weld in the gulley and putty over them. But i would never suggest grinding the welds smooth.

I never grind welds . . no matter how ugly they are.

You should see the welds on my anti-roll bar where it's welded to the axle tubes . . lol They are UGLY!! But . . the car's goin 1.34 60 foot and launchin wheels up and the welds are holding. :santa_afro:

Man i know exactly what your talking about, i mad some NASTY welds on my jeep and on my 55, and all of them are still holding. Even the welds on the 55's 4 link under stress are holding and they are U-G-L-Y but get the job done.

i've welded quite a bit. penetration looks good. could have held the electrode a little closer, and moved at a slightly slower rate.

looks good.


(splatter can be avoided.) juss f'n with ya. good job.
