I haven't posted much in a while b/c I was b/t jobs. New job pays 25% more, so I was finally able to upgrade from my tired (and broken) 5.0lx hatch to a BABIED sapphire blue 5.0. It's got gray leather that's in fantastic shape (9 out of 10), and the paint is in great shape (8.5 out of 10). IT'S ONLY GOT 68,600 MILES!!!

It's an auto, which I don't really like but I've learned -the hard way- that I'm WAY too rough on manuals. I put 4 T5s in my fox in 5yrs! And I wasn't even drag racing (not at a strip, anyway...)! Unfortunately, until I'm making major bank I'm gonna have to stick to an auto.

I haven't taken any pix, yet. Not that it really matters -right now it's stone stock outside. If you wanna know what a sapphire blue 95 looks like go to google.
The only mods to the car are 4.11 gears, a shift kit on the auto, matrix subframe connectors, 2chamber dumps and an Alpine head unit. It's still got the intake snorkel and it's quad shocks.

Plans for the car include (in order of importance):
lowering the car AT LEAST 2" (probably gonna use 2" drop spindles on the front and curved LCAs in the back with a modest lowering spring/shock/strut set or coil-overs), ditching the running boards and wing, adding 17x8 (or 17x6.5", depending on the clearance after the drop) and 17x10 chrome PonyR wheels, stepping down to 3.55 or 3.73 gears, swapping in a red interior (anyone wanna trade?), all new speakers/subs, billet (grills for the front and knobs/fobs for the interior), shaving the door handles, cold-air kit with new MAF and throttle body, tinted headlights/taillights & tinted led 3rd brakelight. Those are the definite mods.
After those, then maybe a sliding ragtop and a H/C/I upgrade.
The car is quick enough -it's faster than your average commuter. If I do any other engine mods they're gonna have to have proven mileage benefits. I can't afford to sacrifice mileage for power.
I've had a fast mustang, and it wasn't comfortable. Nor was it fast enough -there's always someone faster. I'd much rather have a slick looking, nice sounding car that doesn't beat me up. I'm thinking of it like a power cruiser, or a grand touring car with some late 60's/early 70's, california-showcar flair.

I hear ya on that- I, too, have a rare color Stang that I'd rather enjoy in close-to-stock form (though I occasionally wish I had more power).

Yeah, I love your gold color. I searched for months to find a sapphire blue 5.0, and then I found it a few miles from my house!
I want the car to be as subtle and smooth as possible, so that the color (inside and out if I can swap in the red interior!) can stand out. Already (I've only had the car out about 5x) I've had several people ask me if it's a custom color.

Red interior with blue exterior? :nonono:

Hell to the yeah!

Of course none of these are mustangs (or even Fords), but I want the most beautiful exterior color that Ford ever offered combined with the sexiest interior (who hasn't heard it called "Porno red"?). It'll be the hotness when I get it together -just wait!

Yeah, for the most part it does look like a blue-ish purple. There's an electric blue metallic in the paint, so the blue comes out in when the light hits it right.

looks nice and super clean, love it

Those pix are of BlackMachDown's old car -purely for ilustrative purposes. He was just showing those who are too lazy to google (not pointing any fingers) what sapphire blue looks like. My car doesn't have 96&up wheels/taillights. I'm rolling tri-bars (for now) and horizontal lights (forever).

See above pix for reference on how sick red interiors can look w/ blue paint. Strong colors work well together. No one has to worry anytime soon, though. As the list shows, there are some big ticket (for me, anyway) items before I get to a red interior. Lazy as I am, it may never get done -but it's my goal.

As I was writing to Goldmember, I want the colors to be the attention getters on this ride. Everything else is going to be as low key as possible to highlight the -imo- coolest color options ford ever offered on mustangs.

THANK YOU!! I was hoping there was someone else out there who'd appreciate my dream.
And, yeah. I've already got the wheels picked out. 17" PonyRs! By the time I pull off the spoiler, the running boards and door handles I need a smooth, non-angular wheel. To my eye, they also highlight the 5.0 heritage of the car, and I can run the 315s that make these cars look so hardcore from behind!

Pony's on an SN would look GOOFY. At least I think so.

Just something about their shape and that of the SN95 don't mix for me. Maybe it's just because I'm so used to them on Fox-Bodies.

I think the soft, smooth shape of the ponyRs are a perfect match for the soft smooth lines of our cars.
Maybe when I get 'em on you'll see the light! Just kidding. but seriously though.

I just got the car a wk ago, but I've been hunting for this year/color for a year. That whole time I've been coming up w/ my idea of the perfect look and the major part of that had to do w/ getting the right wheel/tire combo. I know from looking at the killer rides on here that I've gotta have 315s out back, but those tires in 18"s are just TOO EXPENSIVE for a dd car, but 17"s just didn't look right to me until I found these.
The fact that no one runs 'em on an SN95 is a HUGE BONUS, too. In fact, I was a little worried a/b putting 'em up on here before I get them on the car. By the time I get my money together I could be the 20th guy in here running those wheels! But, I'd still rock 'em b/c they're perfect -stylewise- for what I wanna do to this car.
