Got a lot of work done today:
got help file fitting the rings from my machinest
put together whole bottom end
put on rear plate/rear main seal
put on oil pump/pick up tube/oil pan
put on water pump
put on headstuds
next thing i need to do is start putting heads on and buy my timing setup hopefully in the near future
no i followed the arrows marked on the pistons, my engine builder must have just wrote the numbers on them not paying attention to which direction they are going
well i think im going to throw my SQ S trim on for now with no meth and see what i can get out of her, probably run like a 2.85 8 rib. I'm sure down the road I may upgrade to a T trim and run meth, but for the time being im shooting for 500-550rwhp.
just made a big purchase...bought:
Cloyes adjustable timing gear kit (new chains/tensioners/guides/cam gears/sprocket)
header gaskets
locking header bolts
manifold gaskets
75 mm Accufab throttle body
More progress. Got the manifold in place, except didnt torque it down yet because for some reason my old manifold bolts that go throug the waterneck/thermo house are too long and im going to have to get some that are about 1" shorter. Other than that, put injectors in manifold, gaskets in line, Cloyes timing setup just about ready to start timing...only thing does anybody know if with ARP cam bolts, should there be a washer in place or do I just torque the ARP cam bolts down? Thanks...some progress:
