i am building my 94, i have the stock bottom end with a stage 1 tfs cam, tfs twisted wedge heads, tfs intake manifold and upper plenum.. i originally had the heads and cam with the stock intake when i bought it... it ran and idled fine then.. but the guy i bought it from, didnt use hardened pushrods, in turn the guideplates wore them, eventually breaking one.. i sent the heads off and had them shaved, and i put every thing in it new. pistons rings bearings timing chain etc.. my question is that of the cam, ive been told the cam is what throws off the ecu, then needing a tune. but since it ran and idled fine with it in there originally, do you think it would still idle?

im sure there is another post about this, but im new to the site and still learning... after all this is my first build..

thnx

Every car is different bud..

His car might have idled fine, yours might be rough. Your just going to have to put it together and see what happens.

no, i meant ive drove it around before the pushrods broke... now ive re-did every thing, and added the upper and lower.. do u think it will be how i had it before... or is it still a hit or miss type situation?

Its going to be hit or miss. You wont really know until it all done. Its the same situation Im in. I just had the cam replaced and a different upper intake and a different mass air meter. It may run better/worse then it did before but I wont know for sure until its all done and I get to drive it. Either way Im getting a dyno tune done.

You can never go wrong with a tune. I have similar mods and the car ran great, but when I went in for a tune my car had a major lean spot. The driveablility is 100% better.
