Well, I am FINALLY going to take my car down the good old 1/4 in the city next to ours. I have no high hopes but will probably run 15s area. Really pumped, put my driveshaft loop in so I could use my cousin's slicks(That was a bitch!). Wish me luck!

Why did you have to do that to use the slicks? Hope you at least get 14's..5 speed or auto?

Any car running either Slicks or DRs MUST have a driveshaft loop, its a safety thing. It's a stick but I can't see myself running a 14.7, Im not that good of a shifter/launcher yet :(.

SOmething is terribly wrong with my car. I never tried the slicks(wasn't worth it) but my best was a 16.2@85! I let my cousin who drives a 83' stang that runs 11s drive it, he says it needs help. Acceleration is off and it sounds bad. MAF probably went which would explain my bad fuel mileage. I hope to run better next time...

Thanks for the encouragement! I hope all it is is the MAF. There was also a weird pulsing viberation too, even on the way up to the track! It is either A) Tire balance problem. b)Front right wheel barrier(it was going a few thou. KM ago) and I hope not this one C) The Tranny. We think the tranny is having issues too, because when we take it out of gear, the viberation basically stops, its still there just alot quieter. No idea what that is and my drive shaft loop is rubbing on the passenger cat, Just an excuse to get an X-pipe. It's just a few little things and I hope I can get my car back up after this month!

is it stock except for 3.73s? auto or manual? if its a stock auto, i'm not really that surprised by those numbers. i was running mid/high 15s with only a flowmaster catback on my old aode 94.

Stick with 3.73s. It's not normal to run that at all :p. SHould also mention that I just got a new MAF today and will put it in after work. Getting a new exhaust system wednesday since my driveshaft loop IS rubbing on my passenger side cat. Total cost for exhaust is $700 installed for a 3" O/R H pipe with a 2.5" magnaflow system.

3" Off road mid pipe? that is a little excessive for a stock engine.. Try and find a 2.5" midpipe to match your catback.

I was wondering why he wasn't going with a 3" cat back. I would run 3" all the way back.

What are you running for headers?

Lol cause Im putting it on Wednesday, I just updated it because I was bored. The appointment is made already and the cash is ready. On a side note after doing the wheel balance today, the car rides ALOT smoother. The shop said some tires were out bad! Next up, MAF install tomorrow morning :).

Another update, this time on the MAF. I put in the new one at school this morning and could hear a difference. Engine runs smooth, no lumpy idle, crisp and clean sound and clean throttle response. Opened it up and felt a big difference. I can't believe those little tiny wires in that thing make such a difference!

Oh cool hopefully you'll do better than 16.2 at 85 mph. Thats single port V6 mustang territory. Anyways... Just do the ENTIRE exhaust while your at it. Get long tubes, and x-pipe. That should help your times some. Hopefully your car will run alot better next time.

A drive shaft loop is only required for slicks, you can run w/ out a loop with DR's

Not at our track. NHRA rules state running Slicks/DRs REQUIRE a driveshaft loop, or any car running 12.99 or faster on street tires.
