Fixing smoked headlights

I have a set of smoked headlights on my car and the paint is coming off of them. Who has fixed this and what product did you use, the lights are aftermarket smoked units so I don't know what shade to use.

I had them on my old cobra they were a cheap set from ebay and started peeling after a year or so. I sanded them with 800 then cleared them the sanded with 1500 then used meguiars plastic lenses polish looked 100% new

x3 on what they said...if they havent peeled so bad the clear lense is show then you won't have to sand off the tint...when you clear them 1 coat should be fine...a second coat will make it look dull...be sure to use non yellowing clear coat
