i get 300+ miles to a tank of gas..... ... .. so, i like to drive like an old lady... let my sexy chrome do the talkin'

but seriously, im at 123k and am not exactly 100% confident in my 2v any longer.

I remember when mine used to get 330+ Miles per tank on NJ to FLA trips but it was mostly stock.

Still have 100% confidence in my 2V to get me where i'm going and back without failure since i'm batting 1000% so far.

yea, mines never broken down with the exception of the test drive. lol.

i drove it to and fro from laramie wyoming with bad gear backlash and it took that abuse... so, i wouldnt hesitate to drive it accross country today if i had to, but id prefer not :) lol.

theres a big difference between abusing your car, and driving your car hard. treat it right, and do the preventive maintenance it will more than likely be fine. like most people i bought my car as a toy, not a dd, and ive kicked the crap out of it, and it was always fine. unfortunatly my car is 12 years old lol, and its been waiting for all new suspension, and a built rear end for about a year and a half now lol.

I drive it hard whenever I take her out. BUT, I know the time and place to do so. We do not have any people in Vermont so I can basically do whatever I want whenever I want. However, I do not beat on it. There is a difference!

When I'm on a back road alone I drive maybe a lil faster then the speed limit. In city I drive the speed limit until the a-holes around me aggravate me, then I duck and weave and haul ass. Mine has just shy of 150,000 and still runs strong (for what it is). Use motorcraft 10w30 every 5k using a mc fl1a filter. If I didn't have a rear main seal leak I'd run a pure synthetic.

Why you got now faith in your car chris?

its a knockin' now... .. :-D lol. i think it will be fine... i have a new motor in the works, so this little 2v should get me through a year or two.

if not, ive seen tehm on CL for $300.00 lol.

but at 300 gal/tank + 0 performance loss + no burning of oil + no leaking fluids = daily driver... lol.

I'd say there's a pretty big difference between running a car hard and beating/abusing the car. I feel for the most part these cars were meant to run on the hard side, i never hesitate to drive my Cobra hard when I have it out but I'd never do things that I'd consider abusing the car.

+1. floor it, but avoid power shifting and doughnuts.

double granny clutch, just like on the fast and the furriest.

My 96GT has just shy of 170K miles and has excellent maintenance records. She never takes a ride without taking a nice gulp of petro. Don't get me wrong, I'd never "abuse" the car. To me its like...... Why own a Mustang if you're not gonna feel its wrath ?? Just don't kill your project while enjoying it. So I guess my respone is ... TO THE FLOOR !!! Not always but as often as I like.
