Does anyone know what the actual difference in the two are? I know the FMS one can be used with abs but the normal Auburn says it can also. Is this true? Why is the FMS Auburn Pro more. Hopefully someone can help because I want to purchase one soon and I dont want to choose the wrong one.

Thanks

If it is a differential that utilizes the factory c-clip axles, it can be use just fine on our cars with ABS. The diff in our cars has nothing to do with ABS....however in trucks (like bronco's and f-150s) the have an exciter (ABS) ring on the diff itself...inside the pumpkin...not on the individual axles like our cars. Both units are virtually if not 100% identical so the choice is yours.

You are a wise man. How do you know all this stuff?

Honestly, I've had every single part off of my car at one point or another and most of them, more than once. I've done it the wrong way, learned, done it the right way, learned, and improved on it. I've had this car since 2001 when it was white and BONE STOCK down to the air silencer. Plus, being in the military, while you're on deployments, you have ALOT of down time to just read...and read....and read. Really it is alot of research, trial and error, frustrations, good well-knowledged friends, hard-headedness, and money.

More specifically though, with the diff...I wanted to build my rear end to support 500 horse with no sweat. I didn't want to go over kill with c-clip elims and a spool b/c a ) i never PLANNED on running full blown slicks and b) although many don't have the problem, i didn't wanna chance fluid leaks with the seals due to street use. I knew I wanted 31 spline Mosers so I looked at available diffs. I looked at the cheapest (f-150/bronco 8.8 diffs which have the abs rings on them) and everything else. I wanted something that I could set and forget and not have to worry about a) rebuilding clutches and b) EVER breaking. I found stories about exploded auburns, strange, eatons, trac-locs, etc. Only TWO diffs that i didn't find any broken ones at my power level were detroit lockers and ARBs. detroits being the cheapest "indestructible" c-clips diff i could find....I bought one. If they work for high tq mud trucks and rockcrawlers, it should have ZERO problems with my little street car. SO, although I haven't run everything out there, I have researched, asked questions, and researched some more....

Always happy to help man....

I just dont want the wearing that comes along with the clutches. I doubt I will ever have enough power to break a geared limited slip. After some research I decided to ditch the auburn and I bought a detroit tru-trac.
