I have the Ford 600 Plus Alarm installed on my car. The blinking light next to the rear defrost is red and I want to change it over to blue. I bought a led blue light off Ebay. It has 2 wires, a black and white one. The red light on the car has 3 wires red, blue, and green. How would I go about tieing these in togther or do I need a light with 3 wires?

Are you sure your LED isnt also a switch? On mine when you press the front of the LED it switches to valet mode so the alarm wont autoarm and hitting the arm button only locks the doors (one chirp instead of two)

There's nothing to press on the light. It just a little red light with a red slide over lens. I have this tiny push button mounted right above the hood pop, maybe thats the switch? Just noticed it today.

No, I was talking about the dash LED itself, when you press in the plastic "lens" itsefl it acts as a switch to change the alarm mode

I mention it because mine is 3 wire not the typical 2 wire

if it isn't some kind of switch, or a two color led then it will only have 2 leads comming off of it. You will need to be sure to match the voltage of the led.

If you really want to wire it as just a LED and not a switch then you just need to get out your meter

Two wires are for the LED itself (I think it's red and green) and the 3rd is for the switched output

You can tell which are the LED feeds by hooking your meter up to the wires, when the LED blinks you will see the volts going up and down meaning you have the right wires. Red goes to red on your new LED and the 2nd wire to green.

On a side note if you want to sell that 3 wire let me know

Yeah I probably will do that when I get time since I don't know how the switch is supposed to work and I've lived this long without it, I dont think it'd hurt removing it. Send me a PM with a offer if you want it.

put the key in the ignition, push the botton and hold it while you turn the key on and it should go to valet mode.

As he said it shouldn't be too hare do find the wires to teh light by either tracing them or with a meter like he said. You can just cut one wrire going to it and then connect your light but not sure if you can mount it.

Dont need to turn the key, as long as the button isnt lit (key off) press it once and it will change to fast blinking (valet mode)

I just replaced mine using a 4-wire LED/button, damn that thing is brighter then my 14 year old one
