Ford is reportedly planning on removing the parallel parking and automated driving features from the Mach E, Escape and Edge models in order to cut production costs. Research suggests these features are little used (thank god!)
IMO, if you don’t possess the skill to parallel park, which, on, can be a challenge now and again, you shouldn’t be behind the wheel of a vehicle. And the Automated Drive feature, IMO, is self-defeating because you still have to pay attention (at probably an increased stress level) as you relinquish control of the vehicle and very possibly your life to technology that is not 100% reliable. Seems to me that all it does is allow you to rest your arms by releasing hold of the steering wheel. If your arms are THAT tired, then you shouldn’t be driving in the first place, OR….. do like 99% of drivers do and rest one while supporting the other as you drive. There’s this thing called AN ARM REST in every vehicle.

I was just watching a vid where they were talking about this with the trucks. They have added little dodads every year from the stepup tailgate, the compartments in the rails and all the other little stuff that a $100k truck is easy to get and the lots are FULL of them. This one was saying jeep was the worst with most dealers now having new inventory from 23, 24 and now with the 25s arriving.

Stragglers of ‘23 and 24 Rams here, too but they all seem to be the high dollar ones and they’ve not chopping the prices enough Imo

Ford needs to remove whom ever it is that allows the dumba$$ engineering on these failed engines. Its becoming seriously disappointing!
they are doing better than toyota... At least toyota is standing behind their stuff but man 103k complete motors that is one heck of a recall!

Always thought parallel parking assist was stupid. I rarely do it, and quicker to just park myself vs engage the auto parallel park feature.

I disagree though about self driving. My wife's car has it and I find myself borrowing her car whenever I need to make a long highway trip. I find it's waaaaay less mental stress and I arrive at my destination less tired than if i drove it myself. I'm shopping for my next vehicle now and self-driving features are at the top of the list of things I want.

EDIT: I just searched around and dont see any articles referencing removing BlueCruise from those vehicles. Just the "Enhances Active Park Assist" because Ford states "nobody was using that feature". I agree. I tried it once and that was the end of that.

My 2013 Taurus SHO has the parallel park and I've never used it. So no big loss imo.

But I agree the prices are stupid. I'm not paying a ridiculous amount for a new one. I'll wait and find a good used one.
