When I was looking for Cobra's, it came up in a thread I was reading over at SVT that you can somehow run a VIN through Ford's system yourself and see if any warranty work has been done. True or False? I probably read it wrong or half remembered it, but the dealer is claiming this truck I may buy had the trans replaced, and I want to independently check that, so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Well if Ford would tell me, that would be independent, the truck is at a Nissan dealership now, lol. Who the hell trades a Supa Duty for a Titan anyway?

I used to work at a Ford Dealer. You can go to any Ford Dealer and they can run the VIN and give you a list of any work done at any dealer on the car. I don't think that kind of stuff is in CarFax is it? I think CarFax just has info on each time it was registered or and crashes.

No, they shouldn't. They should definitely be able to do that for you for free. Your best bet would be to stop by and see them. It's always harder to make an excuse to someone's face than over then phone!
