what is their reasoning for not wanting to install the gears?

I see you are spending $75 on a used set of gears... I have a NEW set of 3.73's sitting under my nightstand that I'll sell you for $100. That way you wont have to worry about trying to get the gears matched up to the old wear pattern. Just set them right, and let it rip

you should still let a shop do it... but for $25 extra... it would be stupid of you NOT to buy MY gears

Well we went to get them, and didnt get them. Stupid crap ass bolt in BOTH of the 8.8s out there that hold the big pin in the diff snapped on BOTH of them. Needless to say, we are PISSED and wont get them until the 21/22 because the guy needs to use the torch to cut the diff out for us. A little pissed off to say the least, but I have lived this long with the stockers, I guess I can wait a few more weeks.
