I decided to take another look at good old craigslist shortly after my last post in the "Help with my Obsession" in the Photoshop Requests forum and found someone about 2.5 hrs that was advertising 4 stock GT tires & wheels, a '99 trunk lid & spoiler and 2 18x9 & 18x10 Chrome Saleens for sale for $500. Needless to say, I called as soon as I read it, told him I was interested in the Saleens and asked how much would want for them. He told me $200! He then went on to say that he had tires on all but 1 of the wheels and that one of his front tires had a flat that couldn't be repaired (side wall) so he never repaced it, so there were 3 tires that were still mounted on them. I'm picking them up Saturday afternoon.
Now the "first step" is complete. My intent is still to get them painted or probably powder coated gun metal gray like Ferocious's chop he did for me:
