ok so last night i was getting gas, and i pulled up to the gas pump and everything, and it didn't work. so i went to move my car over to the next one. i'm a kinda impaitent person to say so i just goosed 1st real fast and did a small 180. instead of a three point turn..

whenever i did that i had my girl's little brother me, and he pointed out the window and was like what the F is that... and it looked like a little ball of fire shooting across the parking lot.. after that i lost power steering, brakes, my battery light was on, and i started getting hot..

i shut it down and waited for it to cool long enough to get it back to my friends allright..

so any suggestions would be awesome at this time!... i'm thinking the tensioner, whenever i had the hood open lookin around in pitch black darkness the only thing i realised was the belt wasn't spinning at all..

:help2:

it sounds like you blew off a pullie or tentioner snaped off. it's common for all those lights to come on if belt is not spinning + stearing is not working.

hell maybe belt just broke :dunno:

yeah, that ball of fire was the lip of the harmonic balencer, its stripped and smooth as a babys ass..

does anyone have one lying around?

edit, i guess that i just need a pully

how hard is one to change, do i have to pull shit off of the front of the engine bay or will i have access?

Get a new pulley... Theres 4 bolts that hold it on...

Take off anything you need to get out of the way in order to access it...
Put the car in gear, and the parking break on,
Take off the bolts...

If the car insists on moving, there is a bolt in the center of the Harmonic Balance that screws into the crank shaft... put a breaker bar and socket on that to keep the motor from turning...

since its just a balancer it shouldn't be that bad. Just get a balancer puller from somewhere and get a balancer.

then how'd your car run? theirs too much slack for the belt to catch the balencer on mine.

i compared it to my friend's 96gt and his has a lip and grooveings in his.. so if anyone has a extra balencer or pulley laying around that'd be sweet

i went inside to use the bathroom when it was put back on and whenever it was done i knoticed that they didnt slip a little metal clip in the inside? does this mean anything serious beacuse i've been drivin real easy until i find out if thats a serious issue or not.

I missed this post. I assume you found the pulley. I think I have one in the shed. I had the same thing happend but it wasn't my pulley. My tensioner snaped in half. But my belt is super tight b/c of the blower, they make a steel tensioner for are cars now but I think that is mainly a blower issue. Glad to see you got it back on the road. I am not sure what metal piece you are talking about I will have to go look.
