I juss got new pads cause my old ones were really loose and made the caliper rattle. the new pads made the caliper tighter but there still is some play and noticable noise over bumps, is there supposed to be some type of shims on the bracket or pads?

there are shims on the bads, but what do you mean the caliper is loose? its not supposed to have any play in it, no movement that you should be able to notice

i had the same problem 2 weeks ago. u forgot to put the little metal bracket that comes with the new brake pads. they mount on the brake pad itself. just look at ur old pads and you'll see what i mean.

Caipers being loose would be a serious problem...pads being loose not much...you just left out the shims or little springs that keep the pads tighter.

the calipers have noticable play and i didnt get any shims with the pads. the pads are tightly pressed into the calipers but the caliper with the pads moves up and down like a mm or 2. i need to know if the caliper bracket where the pads sit have any shims. i bought brembo pads not factory
