I'm installing braided hose from my Kurgan fuel hat. I have no room to mount my aeromotive filter in back by the tank, the next best spot is near the front before the lines enter the engine bay. My question is since the pumps have filter socks on them can I run the external filter up front? or is there a unwritten rule that I need to have the filter mounted in back? Thanks in advance.

no written rule. some cars come with the filter in the engine compartment for easy access....

the sock and the pump will filter out the big stuff. the filter is for tiny stuff that could clog injectors. you can put it anywhere.

I put mine back in the oem mounting bracket...

I'm going to be using the aluminum aeromotive bracket and just mount it behind the plastic inner fender, I think it should be safe there.
