I have a 306 with Performer RPM heads and a Kenne Bell. I put it together with everything - plugs, wires, distributor, coil, ignition, 42 lb injectors, maf, cold air, and a 255 lph fuel pump. It ran fine but when i called anderson to help with the tune on the PMS, he said to get more fuel. so i got a t-rex external fuel pump hooked it all up - double checked everything. Started it, runs fine. but then i could hardly hit the gas without it stalling. i double checked the fuel pressure while revving it and it seemed ok, never dropped. then while i was setting the computer a little more the car died and i noticed the in-tank fuel pump was not pumping and the car wouldn't start. after the car cooled off i started it again and checked the fuel pressure. it was fine at idle, but when i revved it the pressure dropped off from about 40 down through 30 and closer to 25. what happened? the fuel pump is only about two months old. why would it quit? the wiring supplies the external with power so i know that is good. could the pump be bad?

Pumps can fail. I can't believe you needed the T-rex external pump. Your setup and mine are almost the same and my injectors are only running about 60% duty cycle max.

well i have 9.5 compression and i am trying to get 8 pounds of boost but i am only getting 7 with the setup, which is fine to me. should i lose the t rex and go with just a holley forced induction 255 pump? i think i'll get a dash mount elec. fuel pressure guage so i can moniter this more closely and try just the in tank pump... any suggestions?

anderson will always recommend having more fuel than you need, and trimming with the PMS rather than adding with the PMS.

something is up with the trex, i would ditch it.

the walbro high pressure high volume pump should be able to handle the load. the holley pump you mentioned is roughly the same.

my suggestion would be to go with a big external pump, glens performance sumped tank, run new feed and return lines to a good regulator and a nice set of rails. then fuel wont be an issue :)

No need to pay the extra money for a holley pump. All it is, is a walbro pump with a holley name.

Buy the walbro hi-press 255lph (part # GSS340) I think it is $89.00

Get it from Dave @ JD's.

OK. I spoke too soon. It's acting up again. where can i find the relay for the fuel pump? i used my meter and ohmed out all the wires, pulled the pump and hit it with 12 volts. checked the inertia/shut off switch. everything is good. Filter? Relay? Pump? it runs good cold. ???
