Fuel Pump replacement options

I had a fuel pump thread earlier and you guys were a great help. I found out that my problem is in the plastic hose. Since i'm bone stock, i went back to the local parts store and ordered another one. It appears that my car has California emissions because my FP assembly has 2 pigtails on it. One goes to the main power harness and the other connects to the gas tank. What is this other connection for?

Can i still run the SVT focus pump with this setup? What year model focus pump is everyone using?

yes you can still run the pump, just keep your assembly, take it apart, pull old pump ouot of assembly, replace with new plug everything back together. sorry but cant help you with that west coast mumbo jumbo....I have no clue what its for. My 98 has one plug coming from the pump and a vent hose.

Maybe Handz will check in, he has a Cali car I believe and swapped pumps.
