Fuel system questions

So, I'm putting my PI heads and Intake on this weekend. I know that my stock fuel system in my '97 will work just fine, but I seem to be limited in power adder kits. I'm sure I could buy a Kenne Bell kit for a New Edge GT and peice together the fuel system parts to put it on, but would just swaping in the fuel system from an '04 just be a better option? Also, are there and advantages N/A with the returnless style fuel system?

It would be a huge PITA to swap it over, you would need the newer ECU, which would flip out at your dash and VSS, and alot of wiring.

A 255lph Walbro, BAP, LIghtning MAF, and 42lb's will work just dandy for you though.

As long as this thread is open, I was just curious what lph the stock pumps run at? I read soewhere it's like 80lph. If this is the case, how much power can the 155lph walbro fuel pump I have in my car support? Would I still have to upgrade to a 255lph if I'm only looking to run minimal boost (somewhere around 350whp)

i've always heard that if you run outa pump with the stock pump then don't go for anything less than a 255 lph... just what i heard.

A 155 isn't enough for 350 rwhp.

Voidfinger is right, the price difference between them all is pretty negligable, so you may as well get the big un.

I forget for sure, but the stock pump is 80 or 90 lph.

Well this one was $90 and the 255 was like $200. My stock one failed (or so I thought) so I was just looking for a replacement, and this was the same price as the OEM replacement (which was by a brand I'd never heard of). Well if I ever go supercharged I'll just have to upgrade that x.x

I guess you cant trust the ads can you? On the box it says good for 425hp =P

At 355 rwhp, it would be close. I wouldn't bother to risk it. BTW, I got my Walboro for 100 bucks, NIB off Ebay.

yea your car doesn't have the variable speed pumps... you use the traditional pump like a 150/ 255 lph... where as my 98 uses a svt style pump but with a return style system... weird huh.

It jumps up the voltage on the pump, I have no idea if it will work on your 98, but they work on returnless cars
