Hello,
Ive got a 1997 mustang 4.6 5 speed with a clutch issue. I just got the car back after having a new throw out bearing installed. Also the flywheel was resurfaced and a napa adjustable clutch cable and solid quadrent was installed.

tonight while driving home my pedal got easyer to push in while shifting. i also noticed that the car would shutter on take off and while shifting. It alsmost seems to act like the clutch is still half enguaged with the pedal in.

Do you think the new cable might have stretched and needs to be adjusted? It only has about 200km on it?

If you did not replace the pilot bearing, that may be causing the shuttering. Im speaking from experience on that one. Also check to make sure that you have routed the cable correctly and that it is actually in the channel on the quadrant.

Thanks for the advise. The cable is routed correctly. My tech inspeced the clutch and said everything looked fine except the exploded throw out bearing. It was weird I was half way through pushing the pedal down to shift and it got right light. didnt have to use half the force I would before , but the trans also shifted a little (not a lot) harded.
