Funny Honda story

So I just picked up some new rims, I bought a new pair of saleen rims so I can sell my other old pair.Well today I hit up a local tire shop so they can mount and balance them and do a tire alignment. When one of the employees walks over and asks me about my car, he seemed like a nice guy, he said my car sounded nice and asked what I had done to it and then asked me what kind of clutch I had etc.He then said he had a 700whp honda heres how the story went..

HONDA GUY: "HEY NICE MUSTANG WHATS DONE TO IT"

ME:THANKS MAN, 306 H/C/I BOLT ONS ETC ETC....

HONDA GUY : "NICE, WHAT KIND OF CLUTCH?"

ME: "SPEC CLUTCH"

HONDA GUY: " YEAH I HAVE 1 TO IN MY "

ME: " OH WHAT YEAR IS YOUR MUSTANG"

HONDA GUY :" OH I HAVE A HONDA CIVIC WITH A TWIN DISK $1200 SPEC CLUTCH"

ME: " OH WHAT YEAR CIVIC AND WHATS DONE TO IT"

HONDA GUY : "WELL MY DAILY DRIVER IS A TYPE R SWAP INTO A 95 CIVIC HATCH,
AND I HAVE A EG CIVIC HATCH THAT HAS A K20 SWAP BORED STROKED OVER TO A 2.7 LITER 700WHP"

ME: "DAM WHAT SIZE TURBO YOU HAVE ON THAT AND WHAT TRANSMISSION"

HONDA GUY: " NO TURBO ALL MOTOR AND STOCK TRANNY"

ME"UMMM WHAT? :nono: "

Honda Guy: "YEAH ITS PUNCHED OUT TO 2.7 LITERS AND 13.5 COMPRESSION AND I REDLINE IT @ 15,000 RPMS I RUN METHANOL AND ITS ALL MOTOR MAKES 700WHP"

ME:"UM WOW THATS ISANE RACE CAR ESP FOR ALL MOTOR HONDA, THAT SEEMS REALLY ISANE HIGH FOR A HONDA ALL MOTOR EVEN FOR THAT SETUP" :laughing5: :confused1: :angry7: :dontknow:

So yeah any 1 else call bs on this guy? He was a real nice guy, but I call big BS :bs: :bs: :violent1: On his numbers esp on only 2.7 liters, he showed me a pic but just outside of the car, no engine pics, I think hes bsing and its a turbo k20,because most I have seen was in a eg hatch that ran 10's all motor fully gutted same setup as his sounds and it only made like 300whp. I have heard more crazy setup's making more power then I thought, I have some friends into hondas, I want to ask them if that was even possible in a full race setup car I call big bs, I mean 300rwhp on are cars is 1hp per cubic inch, and hondas like a s2000 had a record for most per liter it was 236-240hp for a s2000 stock with 2.0-2.2 liters @ the crank so even if it was some isane modded 2.7 liter k20 motor which was rated 200hp crank stock, I dont see it making 700whp, not even 700 @ the crank, maybe 270-500@ the crank and 250-400whp. :dontknow: :dontknow: :angry7: :BangHead: IT has to be turbo, because I have seen some isane built motor k20 cars with huge turbos and 20-30psi and still making 700-800whp.

I call BS on making 700whp all motor even it is methanol...I would say maybe 550whp with one helluva tune and running full meth.

Yeah Ive been looking around and I have only seen as high as 300-500whp in a full out race car honda with the isane compression and rpm's,so for a street car thats like 180-280whp,hondas are not kno for making power all motor with them small motors so I to say hes bsing me lol

i dont doubt its fast, but Honda owners in particular seem to make outrageous claims about their numbers.

I kno if you see my response I was trying to be nice to, I'm not a fan of hondas, but I kno they can be fast so he was really nice and not being a dick ricer to me,but when he said 700whp THATS WHY IM LIKE NICE WHAT SIZE TURBO AND WHEN HE SAID ALL MOTOR I WAS LIKE W.T.F!! lol

There's a couple local Hondas making 500hp all motor, but like I said its a radical tune and either race fuel or mix.

Yeah I think hes bsing me and its not even his car the picture of the car he showed me I found on my friends page on facebook of pictures from some big honda meet in my state,and I found pictures of said car and has a HUGE TURBO IN THE FRONT lol so either hes bsing me or isnt his car, I also looked up on youtube record setting all motor honda running 9's n/a and was in the 500hp range

Nah, I dont believe that. I had a 2000 Honda Prelude that I dumped $75,000 into, including a $28,000 bored/stroked 2.2L -> 2.8L. It was 13.5:1 Compression, 512" cams, everything you can think of uder the sun, including Metanol injection, and it only made 369whp and 225ftlbs, and I spun it to 9,500RPM... So. Ya, I call BULLSHIT.

This was my Honda baby. lol Built for the Cover of Honda Tuning Magazine in 2007.

I have to say it sucks, because there really are ALOT of very fast hondas out there. It sucks because guys like him give imports a bad wrap and make it the center of alot of jokes. My prelude was pretty damn quick, if I do say so myself, I was faster 0-160 than my friends 490hp 2004 Mystic Cobra, not by much, about 3 cars - but hey thats fast for a FWD POS. haha. Shit, we built a 1,100whp Acura RSX (118 oct) at our shop about 3 years ago. Still runs! haha. Almost daily driven byt the owner too!

Wow thats a pretty sick Prelude I have to say and I dont even like them that much ha. And yeah I agree like I like some hondas like integras (technically an acura but still counts) but all these ricer kids give them terrible names. Like this one kid with an auto 2000 prelude claims whenever you beat him he missed a shift? And its got a turbo? hmmm..

local import guys are buying riced out cars, putting oem body parts on them and making them fast.

one of them has a bunch of records in his prelude, one of them is fastest prelude in the nation without a turbo. pretty impressive if you ask me.

not a fan of hondas, but some of the older preludes are the only ones i would drive.

You can make anything fast with a shit load of money, I know this!!! LOL. I tend to get stupid with builds.

I have to say though, and I hate to even try to defend it in any way, because that race against the auto Prelude was stupid lol, but the Prelude SS transmission is complete garbage and it even being an auto, it can/will miss shift or not shift at all when anything over 200hp goes thru it haha.

I cant stand it when I see stuff that has hella body mods and its a stock motor. LOL. I mean, I ALWAYS do fully built motors/trans before I even do body mods. Maybe thats just me.

I mean, I had a guy today in a Hyundai Elantra 4 door with a HUGE ass wing and flame decals pull up and rev at me - and I was on my BIKE!!! WTF. REALLY. haha. Those people make me LOL. I had a guy in a stock Lancer (not evo) rev up and try to race me when i was in the cobra and all I had was I/H/E/Gears/Tune. It wasn't even a contest. Then tot he ricer fly-bys. hah.
