I havent touched my O2s. MAF is clean, fuel filter is new, air filter I cant see but im sure its clean its only been on for one summer and its a bitch to get to (damn CAI fenderwell).

What are the symtoms of bad o2's? Running rich, because im pretty sure my beast runs a bit rich?

I feel weird i put full synthetics and lucas in my 95 gt with 91 octane and a octane booster every 3 fills. I get 28 on the highway and bout 18 in town. I got full exhaust and intake free mods. i can get just bout 200miles per half a tank going 75 on the highway.

i have heard that generally if you have bad O2s, you should get a check engine light. Matt94GT i know you have HCI,
as do i, and that is one reason you are running rich. i would have someone scan your car and see if any codes pop up,
just because you aren't getting a CEL doesnt mean somethings not messing up.

with my 94 automatic with 4.10 gears, well everything in my sig, i get 250 highway cruising at 75-80 and thats usually around 2600-2800 rpm's in overdrive and city driving with lots of stop and goes i get about 180-190 and i fill up right before it hits the E, so i probably have a good extra gallon left in the tank

replace the cap and rotor. when i notice my gas mileage getting poor I just replace it, and then i get my MPG back.
It will look fine but the gap between the contacts gets larger over time. (stock distributer)

I get 12.5 city. I havent had it on the highway yet. And its just been tuned so everything is good. And that was with beating on it a bit. According to my tuner thats not bad mpg.

when you start tweaking your car for MORE HORSEPOWER... it has to come from somewhere.

Besides... when I drive our stang, I think that I'm driving a v8 sports car so its not gettin good MPG anyway! I drive my Civic for economy.

I hope that you guys realize that when you increase your gearing (i.e. go from 2.73 to 4.10) your stock odometer is actually counting mileage faster than you're putting it on, UNLESS you get it all corrected with the install of a speedo gear that is calibrated to your new gear ratio;

for example, lets say that your stock gear mileage was 20 mpg highway- that would be true because everything is in sync with eachother

now change those gears to 4.10 and now your odometer is maybe counting 1.5 miles for every 1 you actually travel, which appears to increase your miles per tank at your next fillup because what used to say 225 miles with stock gears when you got to the pump now says something like 380.

i know i dont post on here a lot, but i was big into jeeps before I got my stang and gearing is a big part of offroading, however the principals remain the same. basically, unless you correct the speedo with a new drive gear, you have to recalculate your MPG to allow for the correction.

i hope im not stepping on toes or making anyone feel like im being a jerk and i also apologize if im stating the obvious for some people, but it just has to be kept in mind if you're looking into doing this swap for the "better" mileage

Does a speed-cal correct the speedometer and the odometer logging, or no?

it should if you have an electronically controlled speedo that relies on output from a speed sensor. the jeeps i had used a gear in the transfer case that spun a cable; I think my 94 gt does the same thing because I remember seeing in one of the magazines a store that sells gears for recalibrating speedos like that. I dont know much about what year mustangs had what, but im sure it would be easy to find out.

what makes most sense to me is if you have a digital odometer with an LCD readout then its electronic and then a speed cal should work, but if its analog and rolls like mine does, id assume its cable controlled with a drive gear at the end of it that has to be changed.

hmmm, hmmm... I bought a speedcal for our 94 GT 5 speed. I ordered from Dallas Mustang, talked to the guy there and asked all over, and was told time and again this vehicle will work with a speed-cal. I sincerely hope so!
