Same here! Posi, axle bearings and seals, full or nothing unless you have done a rebuild recently..

Exactly.. Do it once and do it right... Gears are a easy thing to fuck up pinion preload all that is key back lash etc , you can just throw gears in and hope they work lol... Pay the 500 you won't regret it

I don't really want to derail this thread from the OP's question... but if (when off the ground) both rear tires turn in the same direction when spun by hand, is the diff completely shot? And also, if there is play where the u-joint connects to the rear end, and also play between each wheel, are the gears in need of adjustment?

No they are supposed to go the same direction... Might need new u joint not sure on the rest

I thought with an LSD they went in opposite directions when turned by hand in neutral... That's what my vert did.

Nope the other way around.. Your vert prob needed a rebuilt..
