I'm putting a system in my 67 Mustang because it currently has nothing. What would you guys recommend? I don't want to spend TOO much (so if you know of some deals, maybe discontinued stuff on sale?, anything) but I do want a nice system. I do NOT want to have spend money again, so I'd rather do it right the first time. I've been looking but haven't really decided anything. I need a Headunit, wiring, speakers, amp, and a 12" sub. For speakers, I'm thinking 6.5" fronts and 6x9" rears, but like I said I don't really know. I think I might have found an amp that'd work good for this car, Alpine PDX-5. Its a 5 channel amp, 75x4 + 300x1RMS, which should be PLENTY for what I want. So yea, any help would be appreciated from you guys who actually know whats what when it comes to audio equipment.

Well if you run the Alpine Type S speakers front and rear you would be doing a great justice with that amp. Seeing as how they both run approx 80 watts RMS you would marry them nicely. If you wanted to keep it all Alpine I would either suggest the Type E 12 (250 Watts RMS) or the Type S 12 (300 Watts RMS).

If your wallet allows I would suggest the 6.5 Type S Component for the separate tweeter location in your door. If the Type S stuff is too rich for your blood (but with Ebay prices its actually not bad) Kenwood actually has been impressing me lately. Infinity are also good but tend to get tinny up high with too much volume.

If you need a deal on some wiring kits let me know. I think I have some Rockford Fosgate stuff laying around.

They make kickpanels to hold 6.5s so they should fit. If not, I'll do like I saw at the GoodGuys show and mount them in the center console I plan on building. Remeber, this is for my 67.

But if youre asking about SN95s, then yes, 6.5s will mount up front with a bracket. I have 6.5s up front in mine right now

I made mine out of some MDF. I need to sand down the corners so the door panels fits better becuase they are pretty thick. But they are mounted nicely, a lot better than teh cheap plywood ones.
