i guess this is auto related but here is some pics of my new Matco box. I will be graduating from college with my automotive degree this next week. I also have started filling it this past week. I threw in a picture of my shifter kart. if you dont know what a shifter kart is, you would be surprised if you saw it run.

thanks, the student discount was over 50% off on that box. if you are a full time student in an automotive program i STRONGLY recomend that you use your discount and buy a box. without the discount i would be looking at a 7500 bill for the box and tools. with the discount i cut that number to a little less than half that.

We are going to take the shifter to mid ohio raceway soon, and we should see speeds around 130mph. the local smaller tracks we see anywhere from 70-90mph.

wow 130 would be insane. the one we had at school would hit about 70 from one end of Lowes parking lot to the other then we had to let out of it

those shifter karts are so much fun.. i have driven a slightly slower one.. there is an indoor track about 30 mins. from where
i live, and the average speed on the track is about 50 mph.. i think i hit 72 INDOORS for my high speed... to be going that
fast with only a couple hundred pounds between you and the floor is the SWEETEST non-sexual activity i have found.
the box is nice too...

haha, we also have an ICC shifter kart. the ICC has more of a top end motor. the one in the pic has a built Honda 125 motor with programable ignition. both of our shifters are over 50hp and both weigh less than 400lbs with me in them.

I watched a video of a shifter kart on the highway late at night.

Was pretty cool, that thing was flying...

Wish I had one and the place to use it. Throw some mudders and get it off teh ground about a foot and maybe then...

sweet, i think all the big names give you discounts. you just gotta be in a votech program. i did the Matco stuff all online. i was originally gonna get Snap-on, but for the money i got a bit more by going with Matco. The top names in the business are definently Snap-on, MAC, and Matco.

That cart stuff is sick, looks like fun.

I used to work on big trucks and had absalutely no luck with Matco tools. Snap-On, and Mac out performs them. The biggest problem I found with Matco was trying to find a dealer that would stay in business for more than a year. After a while you could not replace the broken tools. So when a new dealer came into the area, nobody would buy from him.

I use mostly Snap-On, I have some odd ball stuff in Mac, Matco, and Craftsman, but Craftsman is the worst. O.k. for the backyard mechanic, no good for the daily grind.
