got cash in hand but im confused

ok ive been lookin got get gears for my 95 gt mustang but i come to find out that there is 30 Spline Pinion and a 28 Spline Pinion how do i know what i got or it doesnt matter it say on both that it will fit any 88-04 mustang is this right ?

Ya 28 is stock, also take a peek at the differential case and look at the tag that is held on by a bolt. On the tag it will tell you which gears are installed. Make sure you don't buy a set that you already have!

The tag info may be useless if the gears have been changed. Check by rotating a rear wheel one revolution and counts the number of revolutions of the drive shaft. For example if one wheel rotation turns the DS 2 3/4 turns you have 2:73 gears.

Or since you are installing new gears anyway and you want to know for sure then pull the differential cover and the pinion gear should have the gear ratio stamped on it.

its a an auto mustang 95 gt..... im sorry about the caps just that the day worker broke the key bord and super glued the caps one on and its stuck in caps now.....she had a blond momment

Is the vehicle certification label still on the driver's side door jam? Check axle (AX) code. If the code is "E" the gears are 3:27's. If it's something else let me know and I'll look it up for you.
