I wasnt sure if members rides meant "members mustangs" or if it was any members rides so feel free to move this one.
1976 Yamaha DT 125 Enduro. just a lil 2 stroke thumper. Got it free.
Got it home and it was locked up. Not surprising, no big. Got it all torn down, the head and carb have been sitting in a gas bath for the past day.
i dont think we used the Yamaha reccommended method of breaking loose the engine lol. We took the head off and stuck a screwdriver through the wrist pin and i pulled up on the piston (it was at BDC) while my dad jumped on the kick starter lol.
Tried to go online and order a gasket set and new rings, but whoever set up the web site no shpeak engrish, cuz the only gasket that lines up is the head gasket, and i got 2 compression rings and an oil scraper ring even though theres only spaces for the 2 rings. So pretty much sealin gaps with RTV.
Just gotta get the gas tank cleaned out and a new battery and she'll be about ready for re-assembly
this is my first real project, so its good thats its a simple engine. So far i've spent about $50 in parts, and since im a broke high school kid im tryna keep it under 100.
